CHBSC Presentation Evening
Huge Congratulations to all the swimmers who were honored at our recent Presentation Evening. Mark Exell, CBHSC Chairman hosted the evening and was keenly supported by Redruth Charity Trust Chairman, Chris Hailey. CBHSC recently received generous donations of swim equipment from RCT and it was lovely to invite Chris along to see our wonderful swimmers receiving medals, trophies and Captaincies for their efforts and achievements.
The Club Champs were celebrated first with medals being given out for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Next came our Learn to Swim and Swim School Awards. These trophies have been within club for many years and are awarded to swimmers who the teachers have nominated for their commitment, good attitude and dedication to their training sessions. These squads are taught by our younger teachers, some of who have evolved from Club swimmers into Aquatic Helpers and poolside teachers. We were fortunate to have 2 super young ladies who are leading the way with our youngest swimmers and the Adrian Rutter Young Teachers Award was awarded to Steren Mottart and Saffion Hall.
Combined with the Club Champs, we merged our Distance Championships due to limited pool time later in the year. With more medal presentations, the swimmers were starting to ‘clank’ and both the parents and teachers were proud and thrilled with their achievements. Many Club records were broken this year and some that had stood for many years.
The evening was concluded by announcing our Club Captains for the following years – again nominations were received from the Coaches for swimmers who are not only dedicated to their own swimming development, pushing themselves to the best of their own abilities – but for also being an inspiration to the swimmers who are coming up behind them.
