Plymouth Leander – Harwich Cup

Congratulations to all our swimmers who competed at Plymouth this weekend - it was a high level 1 meet and our talented swimmers were competing with the might of Plymouth Leander, Royal Wolverhampton, Millfield and the wider South West. Some brilliant PBs were achieved along with some new Regional consideration times and a good number of swimmers made the Finals. Team Spirits were high with our older swimmers leading the mobilising warm up and supporting our younger swimmers. Our younger swimmers were highly entertaining and took the opportunity to get involved with stop watch recording amd heat sheets management - they remained diligent and focus throughout the days. Well Done and Thanks to them all.

A Month of Success!

It’s been a busy month for CBHSC swimmers with teams competing in 7 galas across the South West and Beyond. At the CCASA Masters Championships at Bodmin, CBHSC won an impressive 14 Gold and 2 Silver positions. Liam Armstrong went slightly further a field to the World Masters Championships in New Zealand, and competing across both pool and open water events, came home with 1 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze medals – a fantastic achievement by all of the CBHSC Masters.

Also at Bodmin some of the youngest CBHSC swimmers competed at the Newquay Open gala. Swimmers from as young as 9 years old had a go at their first competitive gala and came home victorious. Kai Handford achieved his first County qualifying time in preparation for the County Championships next year.

The Club also excelled at the Regional Championships, which took place over 3 weekends. Swimmers travelled to Plymouth, Bristol and Millfield to compete with the best of the South West region. Alongside some outstanding swimming and numerous Personal Best times being set, the Club welcomed home two new Regional Champions in Megan Vingoe and Turaya Evans.

The club also enter team events where swimmers are chosen to represent the club based on their swimming ability and good attitude in training. Swimmers compete in Relays and Individual races gaining points for their team. This event runs over 3 consecutive months and CBHSC came 2nd at the first round in Plymouth. Ellie MacMeikan and Jake Rodgers were awarded ‘Swimmers of the Gala’ for their individual performances in a highly competitive and fast paced competition.

This weekend Swimmers again travelled to Plymouth to compete at a Level 1 meet hosted by Plymouth Leander SC. Swimmers were on top form with Hollie Durant securing a Regional consideration time for her 50 Breast stroke with cousin Amelia Durant securing a Bronze medal in the same event.

Congratulations to all our swimmers who have shown great ability and commitment in their training to be able to compete at these levels. Thanks as always to our Leisure Centres, our Coaches, Team Managers, Officials and Parents.
