swim club account

CBHSC have recently invested in Swim Club Manager, a user friendly application that will enable the club to communicate with our swimmers and parents, and to manager our swimming community more effectively.

This application allows parents to update personal contact information, medical details, view attendance records, finance invoices, swimming awards and competition times.

Emails will be sent out to all club members, however please check your spam, junk and trash folders as some email accounts are not allowing them into the inbox as they think its spam. Once you have created the rule that any emails from swim club manager are not junk etc it should allow all future emails to go directly into your inbox.

To take advantage of this service, please speak to someone on the club desk on a Monday night.

We will arrange access to the application and basic user guides.

All data is held securely and each parent will be issued with their own unique username and password

help needed -

Vacancy - receptionists

CBHSC is a very large and successful competitive swimming club run by parents and volunteers. We manage over 200 swimmers across 3 swimming pools & a 6 day a week swimming program. This takes a lot of managing and dedication from all our helpers both poolside, behind computers and face to face with our swimmers and parents.

We are currently looking for 2-4 parents who regularly attend the Swordfish & Dolphin swimming sessions on Thursdays at Redruth & Helston swimming pools. We would like to replicate the Monday evening Club Desk at Carn Brea at both venues to make a great point of contact for new and current swimmers and their parents. 2 receptionists per location would give flexibility and coverage.

Tasks to undertake
Support the Poolside Register taking.
Record any absences & concerns from parents.
Communicate back to Club Manager (Caroline Trestrail) any issues.
Point of Contact for new parents.
Interface between parents & teachers on poolside (minimal disturbances during the lessons).
NO money handling will be involved – this will all be directed to the Monday evening setup at Carn Brea.

Experience / Qualifications
Just be able to take some hand written notes and be able to pass your comments back to Club Manager – ideally via email on the evening concerned.
Friendly & welcoming personality.

Suggest time involvement
1 hour of your time on poolside at Redruth or Helston. You will still be able to watch your child swim.
Up to 30mins sending comments back to Club Manager.
Up to 15mins on Monday evenings just catching up at Carn Brea with any new swimmers or issues.

Do you need to provide anything?
No – we will give you a folder with current information for you to reference. The Teachers will hold their own registers.

If you do feel able to offer your valuable time in this way, please email or pop and say Hi on Monday evening.

polite reminders

Parental Responsibility - Carn Brea and Helston swimming club welcomes children of all ages and provides the opportunity to improve their swimming. As a club we use 3 different venues. We recognise that some parents/carers will have children in different squads who will be swimming at different times of the evening and different venues. We must advise that you are responsible for your children prior to their allocated swim time and after they have finished their session.

Our coaches and swim teachers have a duty of care and are responsible for the safety of your children whilst they are poolside. Once they leave the poolside and into the changing rooms they are no longer the clubs responsibility.

Some points to remember:-

Please ensure all swimmers use the centres facilities responsibly before and after their swim session

Please ensure that you are present in the leisure centre with your children whilst they attend their swim session, this is Mandatory for any swimmers under 10 years of age. Please do not just drop your child off without first checking that swim training is on, particularly at Redruth School Pool and Helston Pool.

Ensure that both parents/carers and swimmers are familiar with the clubs code of conduct, both the code of conduct for parents and code of conduct for swimmers can be found on the club website. Go to the Club Info tab and click on the Documents Library.

If you have any concerns about the welfare of your children when they are attending club training sessions please contact our Club Welfare Officer who will be able to discuss any queries you may have on

Thank you
Carn Brea and Helston Swimming Club Committee

Valuables - Please can we remind all Parents/Carers and swimmers that the changing rooms at all the Leisure Centre’s are open to the public. If you choose to bring valuables such as mobile phones, IPad’s etc please either take them on poolside or put them in a locker. The club holds no responsibility and any valuables you bring you do so at your own risk.

Redruth School Pool PARKING - Please could all drivers dropping swimmers off for training at Redruth School Pool make sure they drive out of the proper exit instead of driving back through the entrance.

Post Box - There is now a red post box with the Carn Brea Helston Logo on the wall in the reception area of Carn Brea Leisure Centre. It is situated under the notice boards in the left hand corner before going through to the viewing area for the sports hall.
Entries can either be placed in the post box at any time. If you use the post box could you please -

Use an envelope which is A5 or smaller.

On the front write the swimmers name, competition and amount in the envelope, place the completed entry form and cheque, made payable to CBSHC (not cash). Please seal the envelope.

Forms - Please can all parents/carers print off entry forms etc for upcoming competitions as the club desk does not always have enough available. These will be sent out via emails from the Competition Secretary or from the club website.

Meet Mobile - There is now an app called Meet Mobile, where you can keep up to date at various swimming galas. You are able to track a swimmer's or club's progress throughout the gala whilst it records a swimmer's times and points.

Morning Swim Sessions - Morning swimming at the club has now changed to a MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY. This allows for the morning sessions to follow an early evening session finish. Starting and finishing times remain the same.
These sessions are provided by the club at great expense (approx £4000 annually) so to avoid empty lanes please furnish Michael Kent with the days you intend to attend. This will allow the club to monitor the usage for future discussion regarding its benefits.

Facebook - The club now has an official facebook page called Carn Brea Helston Swimming Club. Please like the page for regular updates and make sure you activate the notifications so that everytime there is a posting you will be notified.

Changing Rooms - Carn Brea Leisure Centre - Please could all squads, particularly Sharks, Junior Club and Junior Performance please put their clothes either in a locker or take on poolside in a bag when they are training and do not leave them in the changing cubicles as other swimmers are unable to change when they have finished their training. We have a lot of swimmers that are leaving their clothes out therefore other swimmers are unable to use the cubicles. Please could all parents/carers pass this onto their swimmer’s.
